Photo Challenge| 1/3 2/3 Framing

I saw my friend's Photography Videos of Bryan Peterson - The Perfect Picture. And so I thought of using it to start this blog. He's giving tips on how the photos work and how some photos look bad because of horrible compositions. And the first photography tip was on 1/3 2/3 Framing.

The common mistake a photographers do in landscape photos is when they  put the horizontal right in the middle of the image. That kind of framing splits the composition in half. And so, when framing a landscape shot, use 1/3 2/3 framing. This type of composition follows the rule of thirds.

Welcome to My Photo Challenge Blog

Hello!

Welcome to my newest blog on the block!

I am Janet and I am an aspiring photographer. It's been a year since I first bought my first ever digital single reflex lens camera.

I bought a Sony A380 in June last year, after my point and shoot Sony Cybershot gave in.I was asking around on what DSLR to buy for a beginner like me and I got a Sony A380 as a suggestion. I went to a camera shop and asked details about it.

After a month of using Sony A380, I have learned everything about the camera and I craved for more.

This led me to buy a Nikon D90... as also suggested by my photographer friends. Nikon D90 is a mid-range digital single lens reflex after all.

My husband is also into photography. But everytime he touched my camera, I'd warn him not to touch my settings. He got so frustrated that he couldn't really use my camera. And so, in July this year, he bought a Nikon D7000, handed it to me and took my D90 for him to use. Now that's a win-win situation. Both husband and wife are now happy campers when it comes to shooting.

Why a new blog?

I want to create a new blog separately just to document my photos. I know this is going to be an awesome journey. Plus the fact that I have a photographer friend that is ever so willing to mentor me and journey with me in perfecting my photos.

I do hope you will enjoy the journey with me, too.

Once again, welcome to my new photography blog!
